D Djamel Rahmani Meddour is a professor at the Department of Agri-Food Engineering and Biotechnology at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and a senior researcher at the Center for Research in Agri-Food Economics and Development (CREDA-UPC-IRTA). In May 2017, Dr. Rahmani received his PhD in Economic Analysis and Business Strategy from the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC). A few years earlier, Dr. Rahmani had obtained his master's degree in agrifood marketing from the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Zaragoza (IAMZ). He has been working as a post-doctoral researcher at CREDA since 2017 and as an associate professor at UPC since 2018. His field of interest is the study of human behavior in relation to food, nutrition, health, and the environment. With his research, he sought to expand knowledge about various human decisions, including food acceptance, food demand, intention to adopt innovations, and intention to pay for ecosystem services, etc. Dr. Rahmani uses mixed research methods that integrate both qualitative and quantitative approaches to gain a comprehensive understanding of human behavior. He employs various economic valuation methods, including the revealed preference (RP) method and the stated preference (SP) method. To date, he has worked intensively on more than 20 different international competitive and multidisciplinary research projects (e.g., H2020, Horizon Europe, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, PRIMA, Interreg, EFSA, etc.) and more than 20 national and local projects. Based on his research findings, Dr. Rahmani published 20 scientific articles and a book chapter in various high-impact international journals. The main results of his research have also been presented in more than 36 national and international congresses and conferences.
