Research seminar: "Microalgae: The Sustainable Solution to the Challenges of the Future". Speaker: Etiele Greque de Moragues

Etiele Greque is a Food Engineer and holds a Ph.D. in Food Science and Engineering.  She joined the Department of Agri Food Engineering and Biotechnology (DEAB) at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in february 2024 as a Ramón y Cajal researcher and teaches at the EEABB in the Bachelor's degree of Food Engineering. She has more than 15 years of experience in microalgae cultivation, downstream processing, and biomass applications at laboratory, pilot, and industrial scales. Her research has consistently focused on innovative approaches to harness microalgae as sustainable and eco-friendly solutions. Throughout her career, she has worked with microalgae in Brazil, Uruguay, and Portugal, enhancing her expertise in international contexts. Since March 2022, Dr. Morais has been at UPC within the Environmental Engineering and Microbiology Research Group (GEMMA), where her work centers on cultivating microalgae in wastewater, aiming for the total valorization of the produced biomass.
